Autism is a syndrome characterised by impairments in social relatedness and communication, as well as repetitive behaviours, abnormal movements, restrictive learning, deficits in language and sensory dysfunction.
The Autism Clinic will aim to help identify, support and treat (whenever possible) identifiable abnormalities associated with the health and functionality of people with autism. These may range from metabolic, to physiological, to immunological, to neurological and biomedical conditions; any of which may help improve the overall health and functioning when treated specifically.
Jonathan Tommey is The Autism Clinic's Managing Director. A well recognised and respected practitioner within the autism community, he comments:
"My son Billy, now 12, has autism and was my inspiration to support and
offer treatments to other individuals with autism. At the Clinic,
we look after many individuals, following a very specific approach
to treating autism. My findings have allowed me to give presentations at
numerous international conferences and events, allowing me to increase awareness of our treatments."

The Autism Clinic looks at helping individuals with autism through the use of detailed questionnaires, identifying predisposition, birth and medical history, to diet and nutrient deficiency symptoms.
Home and laboratory tests may also be used, helping to isolate issues affecting the health of an individual, enabling a tailored treatment protocol to be completed. The protocol may involve the use of dietary modifications, nutritional supplementation, botanical and medical interventions. Yet, the sole aim is to improve overall health and well-being, by taking all issues, whether physical, mental, emotional, physiological and spiritual, into consideration.
The needs of the individual may be diverse and multiple, but by following detailed treatment protocols, many individuals will improve to some degree and with some may improve dramatically.
Effective protocols offering multiple treatments may involve:
- Dietary Modifications
- Nutritional Supplementation
- Immunological Regulation/ Modulation
- Homoeopathy
- Gastrointestinal Treatments
- Liver Support & Enhanced Detoxification (methylation and transulfation)
- Glandular Support (adrenals, thyroid and pancreas)
- Heavy Metal Clathration Therapy
- Physical Therapies - exercise, massage, reflexology, kinesiology, lymphatic drainage, yoga, breathing and relaxation techniques, etc.
